Hand washing

Hand washing should be performed when hands are visibly soiled with with blood or other body fluids, or after using the toilet. When an alcohol-based hand rub is available, it should be used as the first choice for hand hygiene of non-visibly soiled hands.

The entire hand washing procedure below should take approximately 40 to 60 seconds.
